Went to see some good friends for dinner last night and the whole meal was delicious! For starters we had a cheeky, tomato, chilli and vodka soup! Followed by baked stuffed peppers, a recipe from the The Hairy Dieters: How to Love Food and Lose weight cook book.
The meal was healthy and light, and reminded me of the ‘Healthy Eating’ workshop I attended last year at the Cordon Vert Cookery School, at the headquarters of the Vegetarian Society, in Altrincham, Cheshire.
The Vegetarian Society course was very hands on and after each cookery demo we sampled the food and worked together to create a fabulous vegetarian feast, which we sat down and enjoyed together at the end. The highlight was learning how to cook tofu and my favourite dishes were Cassoulet, Thai green curry and Beetroot and Chocolate cake.
Vegetarian recipes are a great way to add variety to your diet, they’re nutritious and taste great too. I would definitely recommend the Vegetarian Society cookery courses. (See link below for details of future courses).
